Visitors who collect stamps in their passports will be eligible for entries into drawings for grand prizes. Coordinated by The Cozy Book Nook in Dayton, the event aims to bolster support for independent bookstores in the region.
Leslie Garcia, co-owner of The Cozy Book Nook, remarked on the importance of community among the bookstores: "We all have our own vibes and specialties, and that's what makes our bookstore community so wonderful. Every store is a unique experience. We love supporting each other, celebrating our differences, and encouraging readers to explore places they might not have visited before. There's something magical about seeing independent bookstores come together, not as competitors, but as a community focused on literacy in our city."
The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, and participation is free. Each bookstore will operate according to its normal hours, including:
- The Cozy Book Nook
- Indigo and Co Books
- Browse Awhile Books
- Jay and Mary's Book Center
- Star City Book Sellers
- Bonnett's Bookstore
- Dark Star Books
