In 2013, Sarah played a pivotal role in establishing the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, supported by key colleagues. Although the Centre began as a concept, it became a reality in 2016 due to Sarah's exceptional negotiating and fundraising efforts, securing the Centre’s permanent location at 36 Fenian Street, Dublin 2.
Under her leadership, the Centre underwent significant refurbishment from a near-derelict building to a thriving hub for translation scholars, practicing translators, writers, and linguists worldwide. It has also served as an important cultural outreach centre for the university, hosting over 10,000 attendees at various events since its inception.
The legacy of Sarah's vision, determination, and outreach skills will always be remembered, as the Centre stands as a testament to her work. Her contributions were vital to its existence, and she will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
