Winners will receive prizes of €800 for first place, €600 for second, and €400 for third. Additionally, the first-place winner will have their collection published as a standalone book in the "FUNK knjiga" series.
Submissions are open until January 31, 2027, and eligible participants include Montenegrin citizens and University of Montenegro students. Works can be submitted in the official language or other officially used languages in Montenegro.
Each author may submit one collection, which must be a complete work that has not previously been published as a book in any format. However, up to three poems from the collection may have appeared in magazines or anthologies.
To ensure anonymity, manuscripts must be identified by a code of at least four characters comprising letters and numbers, without the author's name. Personal information and the code key should be included in a separate document.
Authors writing in Albanian must provide a translation of their manuscript into either the official language or another officially used language in Montenegro.
Submissions should be sent electronically to [email protected], with the subject line “Funk Poetry Competition.” An expert jury will evaluate all entries from February 1 to March 31, 2027, focusing on literary value, originality, innovation, and contributions to contemporary Montenegrin literature.
The results of the competition, along with the announcement of the first prize winner, will occur no later than March 31, 2027. The promotion of the first-place collection will take place during FUNK 2027.
