Three Georgia poets are releasing new poetry collections this fall. Lee Bains, a musician and poet originally from Birmingham, Alabama, now residing in Atlanta, presents his collection titled “Work Lunch,” published by Hub City Press on October 13. This collection focuses on food as a central theme, with long-form poems featuring titles like “Sandwich,” “Cornbread and Beans,” and “Salad.” Through these works, Bains delves into themes of family, memory, class, gender, race, and notably, the often unseen labor of the service industry.
