Mukarung emphasized the essential role of poetry in his life, stating, "Poetry remains the main path of my literary journey. My life struggles are deeply linked to poetry." The new collection showcases a refined expression shaped by his experiences since his last publication.
The 212-page book, published by Publication Nepalaya, features poetry that expresses Mukarung's insights on political, social, and cultural issues. This is his fourth poetry collection after four decades of poetic practice.
In addition to his literary work, Mukarung has been the coordinator of Nepalaya’s E-Kabita, a weekly Saturday poetry series, for the past five years. He has also overseen Kabya-Shrawan, a monthly poetry event at Nepalaya's R-Shala over the last five months.
Bimal Acharya, an editor at Nepalaya, noted Mukarung's role as a bridge between different generations of poets, praising his ability to present political and cultural themes through a literary lens. "Younger readers haven't had the chance to read his poems collected in one place for a long time," Acharya said.
In addition to poetry, Mukarung is also an accomplished lyricist and author. His novel ‘Salah’, published by Nepalaya last year, won this year's Padmashree Literature Award. The new collection is priced at Rs. 625 and is available at major bookstores in Nepal as well as through Thuprai.com and Amazon.
