The 24-year-old Indiana Fever guard drew inspiration from an inscription that hung above the mirror in her childhood bedroom: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA."

"Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who've supported me along the way," Clark stated. She expressed her hope that the book will remind children that they are never alone in pursuing their dreams and that putting in a little extra effort for others is what makes moments special.

Clark has gained recognition for elevating the profile of women's basketball. After struggling with injuries that limited her to just 13 games in 2025, she recently returned to the court and scored seven points in a preseason victory against the New York Liberty.
