Maya Stein, co-director of the festival and former Belfast poet laureate, emphasized the event's appeal to a wide audience, stating, “I’ve been hard at work on creating a well-rounded event suitable for poets and non-poets alike.”

The four-day festival offers a variety of activities, including craft-oriented workshops that require registration and drop-in experiences such as the “Typewriter Poet in Residence” at the Free Library. Highlights also include the 3rd Annual Haiku Death Match scheduled for Thursday, October 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Colonial. The festival will conclude with a celebration on Sunday, October 18, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Belfast Boathouse, featuring the Boston Typewriter Orchestra, which incorporates the sounds of manual typewriters into its performance along with various other elements. Additionally, finalists from the Maine Postmark Poetry Contest will read their works during the closing event.
