New Fiction and Nonfiction Releases for October 20

This week, notable fiction titles include works by Walter Mosley, Louise Penny, Philippa Gregory, and Susanna Clarke. In nonfiction, new releases feature authors such as Lawrence Wright, Haruki Murakami, and Zaina Arafat.

A total of 27 fiction works and 21 nonfiction titles are being published this week.

Additional new books from Rachel A. Shelden, Janasha Prabhu, Natalie Barelli, and John Stephens are included in the Buzz Books 2026: Fall/Winter anthology. Novels by Elizabeth Helen, Wanda Hellmund, and Piper Lawson are highlighted in the Buzz Books 2026: Romance collection.

October’s lineup features 130 fiction titles, 102 nonfiction works, and 21 children’s titles. Looking ahead, November includes 90 fiction titles, 65 nonfiction, and 22 children’s books, while December has 51 fiction titles, 20 nonfiction, and 12 children’s books.
