On August 27, 2026, a group of San Antonio authors launched Inbound Books, a co-op publishing house aimed at enhancing support for writers in publishing and marketing their books. The founders—Christopher Bodmann, Jayne Bodmann, Joseph Guyer, and BJ Bell—believed that many traditional publishers fail to adequately support their authors.

Christopher Bodmann expressed the initiative's goal, stating, "Really [we want to] build a system that helps support authors in that journey and treating every book that we launch as if it could be the next big thing." He aims to publish a series of short novels for preteens called the "Kid Comet" series, with these titles being the first to release under the Inbound Books brand.

The co-op emphasizes a collaborative approach, providing every title with a foundational marketing plan and an author toolkit that includes guidance on social media, events, media interviews, podcast appearances, and long-term promotion. Bodmann mentioned that authors who join the co-op can contribute their skills in various areas like marketing and artwork, allowing them to earn a proportional share of the profits.

Inbound Books plans to direct 50% of royalties to its authors and is open to any author looking for more control over their publishing journey. The co-op intends to partner with local bookstores in San Antonio and South Texas to distribute titles in local libraries, reinforcing their commitment to supporting the local literary community.
