Broadbent shared insights about her writing journey, stating, "I’m an author of fantasy novels with a big pinch of romance, often referred to as 'romantasy.'" She is known for *The War of Lost Hearts* and *The Crowns of Nyaxia* series. Writing has been a constant for her since she started crafting stories as a child, influenced by chapter books like Nancy Drew and later Goosebumps, which inspired her to become an author.
*Children of Fallen Gods* is being re-released after its initial indie publication. Broadbent describes the sequel in five words: "Epic, fantastical, & lots of pain." For readers unfamiliar with the first book, *Daughter of No Worlds*, it sets the stage for a romantic fantasy trilogy, exploring themes of war, magic, and a slow-build romance between Tisaanah and Farlione against the backdrop of conflict.
In the sequel, Broadbent indicates a darker tone, highlighting the challenges faced by the characters in an all-out war scenario. Additionally, a new perspective from a Fey warrior named Aefe adds complexity to the story. Broadbent noted that the ending of this installment has prompted her to apologize, hinting at dramatic twists and turns.
The inspiration for the series emerged from her personal reflections on societal issues and the different approaches individuals take to effect change. She delved into morally ambiguous characters, allowing their complex arcs to develop organically throughout the story.

Looking ahead, she anticipates the release of the final book in the series, *Mother of Death and Dawn*, set for March. This concluding volume promises to be action-packed and emotionally charged, with several long-anticipated character appearances.
Following this series finale, Broadbent has completed copy edits for the next book in *The Crowns of Nyaxia*, slated for August 2026, and plans to dive into its concluding chapters shortly thereafter.
As for her reading list for 2026, Broadbent expressed excitement about catching up on the *Empire of the Vampire* series by Jay Kristoff and the sequel to Brigid Kemmerer’s *Warrior Princess Assassin*.
