Tommy Chuter, a poet from Poole, has published a new poetry collection titled "My Life of Rhyme," with 80 percent of net proceeds directed to Parkinson's UK. The collection features poems penned after Chuter's Parkinson's diagnosis, capturing the humor, frustrations, and emotions associated with living with the condition.

Chuter, who has been writing poetry and songs since childhood, remarked that he never anticipated becoming a writer in this way. He acknowledged that while Parkinson's has diminished some of his physical strength and made handwriting more challenging, it has not affected his imagination. Writing serves as "a prop, a friend and a necessity" in his life, and he aims for his poems to convey "empathy rather than sympathy."
The book is available in both paperback and audiobook formats, and a dedicated website continues to share Chuter's story and new poems written since its publication. The funds raised will aid Parkinson's UK in providing information and support to those affected by the condition while also financing research initiatives. Chuter and his wife, Sue, have utilized the charity's resources and hope that this book will contribute positively to the Parkinson's community.
