Peter Golden's New Novel ‘A Girl from Ohio’ Explores Choices of 1970s Students

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — Peter Golden, an award-winning journalist and historian, has released his latest novel, A Girl from Ohio. In a discussion with WOUB’s Emily Votaw on Conversations From Studio B, he delves into the lives of characters who meet at Ohio University in the early 1970s and later reunite in 2012. The narrative examines how their choices as students influenced their futures, with themes of shifting expectations for women and the economic decline of Appalachian Ohio woven throughout both time periods.
