The narrative, subtitled "A Story of Strength and Courage," features Nora as she dreams of singing "Over the Rainbow" for her family. Despite her enthusiasm and preparation, when the moment arrives, stage fright overtakes her. The story centers on her struggle to overcome her fears and highlights the support she receives from her family.

Salz drew inspiration for the book from a real-life experience on the cattle farm he ran with his wife, Janet. He observed a child facing similar fears and recognized the profound impact familial encouragement can have. He emphasized that courage is not about the absence of fear but the choice to move forward despite it.

Targeting children aged three to seven, the book aligns with other reassuring titles like "The Kissing Hand" and "Giraffes Can't Dance," aimed at helping young readers navigate common fears. Salz's background as an educator and school principal informs the storytelling, making the themes of fear, triumph, and family support resonate.

"Nora's Song" is available for purchase on Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com, and can also be requested at local bookstores and libraries.
