West Chester will host its inaugural Future Famous Authors Bookish Retreat from November 20 to 22, aimed at promoting independent bookstores and connecting readers with talented yet lesser-known authors. JB Harris, founder of Future Famous Authors, coordinated the retreat. Participants can expect meetings with authors, an author panel dinner, and various literary activities, including book discussions and personal reading time. Harris expressed his vision for the event, stating, "I wanted to create the kind of weekend I would love to attend myself. I've been to writing retreats but never a readers' retreat. A weekend in a bookish hotel, visiting bookstores, and doing bookish things sounded like the perfect weekend getaway to me."

Featured authors include JB Harris, known for "The Immigrant's Wife," Kris Schaale, author of "The Summer of Meteors," and Sherry Knowlton, co-author of "American Roulette." Attendees will visit local bookstores such as Baldwin's Book Barn, Bookmarks and Leaves, and Lore, with each location offering unique experiences. The retreat's itinerary combines organized activities, meals, bookstore excursions, and time for informal reading, fostering connections among participants.

Accommodations for the retreat will be provided at the Book House Hotel and Hotel Indigo in West Chester, though these properties are not sponsoring the event.
